Day Summary: Today is my last full day that I'm going to be home before heading back to school tomorrow night. I have to pick up my buddy Hawkins from the airport around 7:30PM and then I'm back at school until May. My mom is off doing a little extra work today in Orange County and she brought the kids along with her. So today it was just me and my step dad so we decided to go shooting. Now I have been wanting to become a cop for a long time now and I have been on a few ride a longs with carious police departments and absolutely fell in love with the job. It is something I am really looking forward to once I am done with college. Anyways I have never really fired a real gun before and it is something I have been wanting to do for a while now to see if it is something I will be good at in the future. Having a gun while being a cop is vital for certain situations in order to protect my life so I want all the practice I can get. We went to this place off the 71 freeway that was an Olympic training site when the Olympics where in L.A. in 1996? I'm not really sure but it is really nice and we weren't sure if we were going to be able to go since there was rain in the for cast. Anyways, it was pretty fun shooting I wasn't to bad of a shot for going for the first time. Later on after I got home and hung out with the family played some wii. It seems like that's all we really have been doing lately as a family which is totally cool because it is a lot of fun. Then I hung out with my good Friend Emilie. I've known her for almost 3 years now and she has always been there for me when times are rough I would do anything for this girl and it's especially awesome because she is coming along to know the Lord and is really working hard to straighten her life out. After Starbucks and just chillen in the car since it was super cold i went over to my Friend Shanes house and we decided to go to Casino Morango. Now now I know going to a casino sounds bad especially since I am a Christian, but as long as I am able to support myself and know my limits going to the casino and playing cards is fine as long as I don't spend over $40 and go only once or twice a year. It was Shanes first time and along with my Friend Joel, now I have been there a few times a couple years ago when I was underage to play blackjack, it was something stupid I did in my younger days and it is something I would never encourage anyone to do. Anyways, Joel and Shane both lost their money pretty quick and I myself ended up getting a few lucky cards and walked out of there with $77 dollars. Lucky right? Haha I could of spent a little more time on the table but I didn't want to go overboard so I just stuck with +37. After that just drove home and hit up the late night taco bell run and now I am sitting here typing away listening to my favorite band The Devil Wears Prada. Tomorrow I'm going to church then lunch with the family then going to pick up my friend Hawkins at the airport then I'm back at school for baseball. Woo Hoo!
Daily Reading: Revelation 22:13
This is the verse that I wear around my neck everyday on a dog tag with the words Alpha and Omega written in Greek. I love this verse with a deep passion. Any verse indicating that God is the "MAN" over everything and everyone is one that really clings to me. It is just a reminder that He is in deep control of my life and He is always there right when I'm there. He is the first person that I need to go to and also the last person. God should be involved in EVERY little thing I do and He is always at the top of my list. People may often look to other things for personal problems or to run away from things. Such things such as drugs, sex, alcohol, etc... these things will only make matters worse and the problems will continue to grow. When dealing with rough times instead of doing this sinful things we need to be able to ask God for help and TRUST Him that He will provide. No matter what the problem is God will help you. Jesus talks about in Mark saying that we could pray for ANYTHING! Yes ANYTHING! Big or small, God just asks for Him to be the first person You go to. Because He is the MAN!
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Please humble me with my life. As I struggled in the areas of, frustration, anger, and sadness today I pray that You will lift me up and get rid of these thoughts and things from my mind. I pray that You command satan to flee form my thoughts as well and get rid of the loneliness I think I may have. God next I would like to thank You for the time I got to spend with my step dad, we may not talk much about things when we hang out but it s still nice to have one on one time with Him just to get to know him better. God as I have been listening to a lot of worship music I would like to thank You for the talent You have the men and women in writing these wonderful songs for you Lord. Songs alone make me feel the Holy Spirit inside me and there isn't any feeling that compares to it. Thank You for my friends and the chance to hang out with old friends like Emilie today. I pray that You will be a light in her head when she is tempted to cross the line or anything like that. I also pray for myself in those type of situations wondering if I should cross the line or not. Please continue to pop in my head when I know something I am doing is wrong. Also Lord as spending time in a casino I have realized how truly and addiction gambling could be. I would like to pray for the people that gambling may be a problem to and that You will give them the power to stop their addiction and find something else to do with their lives. Next God I pray for my self caucuses I have been having lately about the way I look. I know that You made me look this way for a reason and it is something I should never be ashamed of but still am. Give me the strength to get past that Lord. Thank You for keeping me safe at the shooting range today God. Next I would once again like to pray for that dream girl Lord. I know she is out there just give me sign of who that girl may be. Last Lord I would like to pray as I go back to school tomorrow that I will suceeced in baseball and get better and have some opportunity's to shine in this years season. Please help the whole team to grow as a family and for everyone to get along. Keep all the players safe and free from injury and help us to play well and win a championship.
